Auto-Matic Velocity Controller The velocity controller is basically a bleed-in, allowing makeup air to be pulled into the system while the winder is operating at lower speeds. The air to be bled in will be pulled through the fan enclosure louvers shown above. The velocity after the fan is constant due to the bleed-in in front of the fan, as more air is pulled from the hoods; the bleed-in is reduced by the same amount. This will serve two purposes. The first being to reduce the noise level of the air being bled in. Secondly, it will aid in the dissipation of heat from the enclosure. Once the winder reaches 50% of its maximum speed, the bleed-in will be closed completely, with full suction at the pick-up. |
