Heavy-Duty Paper Handling Wheel (H.D.P.H.) This wheel has a back plate, six (6) blades that are gussetted to the blade and to the hub. The blades are also secured to the back plate. The blades range in size from 3/8" thick to 1/2" thick. Based on wheel weight and speed, these wheels, in a properly designed fan housing and system, can chop through magazines, signatures, slab waste, box board, newspaper, corrugated waste and chip board. Any paper product that can be torn or ripped can be chopped up by this wheel. If it is paper and plastic or film laminated, normally a rotary knife is required with a different fan wheel. |

High Speed Paper Handling Wheel (H.S.P.H.) This wheel is identical to the HDPH wheel except the blades are 3/16" to 1/4" thick, which greatly reduces the wheel weight. Based on weight and speed, this wheel can develop up to 30" of total static pressure. It is important that the larger fan be used to keep the wheel RPM down. It will handle the same grade of papers as the HDPH wheel. Since this is a lighter wheel, the life span may be reduce because of blade thickness, therefore, depending on material and volume, it may be required to use a harder metal (abrasion resistance steel) to increase wheel life, due to wear and tear. |
