Chopper Wheel

This wheel is a true chopper wheel and is generally used on high speed applications (winders up to 8000 FPM) with either extra wide or heavy trim. It will also handle twelve (12) ribbons from a sheeter and cut through any roping that may occur. This wheel has six (6) 1/4" blades that are attached to the hub and back plate. The gussetted arrangement is different from the HDPH and HSPH but more than adequate. A 1 inch square block is welded to each blade, then machined to be level and perpendicular to the bore. A hardened and sharpened steel blade (1/4" high x 1 1/8" long) is bolted to the square block. The inlet tube is 1/4" thick and is adjustable so that a clearance can be set between the cutting blade and the cut-off tube. This wheel and fan housing design can develop up to 12,000 CFM at 40" static pressure with a 1 1/8" cutting blade. This wheel is like a heavy-duty machete with a lot of output.
